In Memory of Pam

March 3, 2010

Last year I shot and edited a short documentary about Sarah Scriven, a friend of mine who was training for her first marathon.  In the process, she was raising money for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with Team in Training.  Sarah’s honored hero was Pam La Lumiere, a women from Sarah and I’s hometown who, at the time, was battling Leukemia.

Unfortunately, two weeks ago on February 18, Pam lost that battle. (Click here for Pam’s obituary)  I didn’t know Pam well but everything I have heard and read about her shows me that she was an incredibly warm and giving person.  Even during her treatment, she was helping Sarah and I with this project by sending me photos and taking the time to send me a very warm thank you note.  I was amazed that during such a tough period, she still found the energy to help others.

Above is the video as I completed it last year, before Sarah ran her race.  Sarah finished the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon “vertical” and I often see her at the gym, training for her next endeavor.

I cannot thank Pam enough for the enormous help she gave me during this project and I want to send her family my deepest condolences.  I dedicate this short video to her memory.
